Dr. Ajay Luthra - CEO, BioInteractions Ltd., Berkshire, England

For PhD, Dr. Luthra has studied synthesis and characterization of synthetic enzymes. His interest in biocompatible biomaterials came when he joined Oxford University as Senior Research Fellow working on implantable glucose sensors. Later he joined Professor Dennis Chapman’s group at the Royal Free Hospital and became consultant to Biocompatibles Inc. His first proper job was as Head of Chemistry with Biomedical Sensors developing implantable sensors. In 1991, he progressed to start
BioInteractions where he developed biocompatible biomaterials. Dr Luthra is the co-inventor of 6 patents, which have been filed worldwide. These patents have yielded 7 products for BioInteractions. Further Dr. Ajay Luthra is Chairman of Royal Society Biomaterials Chemistry Division and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Mr R. R. Shah is looking after Indian market as well as Export. He is M. Sc. Research in Chemistry from U.D.C.T. He has paper done Thesis on Halogenations of VAT Dyes.

As a director of MRK Healthcare he is dedicatedly moving ahead to accomplish company’s mission: “Care and improvement of human man life through high quality, cost effective healthcare products”

Apart from the business perspective, he is equally in valued in Philanthropic Projects- A project dedicated to the protection of ageing animals.


Mr. Ravi Shrivastav - CEO, Omni Lens Pvt. Ltd., Ahmedabad

Mr. Ravi Shrivastava is a Post Graduate from Allahabad University. He is Visiting faculty at IIPM, Ahmedabad and SRI SIIM, Delhi.

He has experience of about 27 years in handling sales and marketing functions in domestic and international business.

He has worked with well-established global western multinational companies and startup companies of repute from India.

Currently he is designated as CEO with major responsibilities of Global Business development in Omni Lens (P) Ltd., manufacturing wide range of CE

certified ophthalmic medical devices and other pharmaceutical products meeting International standard. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, identification of emerging market areas, new product development besides strengthening the present business in International markets like U.S., Latin America, Europe, Japan, China, Korea etc. besides strengthening existing business.

Mr. J. P. Dutta - CEO - Lancer Medical Technology Ltd., Ahmedabad

Mr. J. P. Dutta has worked in India and several countries in Europe and Asia for over 35 years. He was formerly at Medtronic Vascular, where he assumed various positions in Sales and Marketing, and he started his career in the Pharmaceutical industry. Combining a scientific and business acumen with a deep knowledge of the cardiovascular industry, he has joined in June 2011 in Lancer and has been leading its development since then.


Mr. Atul Kanunga - Vice President, Indian Plastic Institute & Chairman, Environmental Committee, Plastindia 2015

Mr. Atul Kanuga has experience in the field of PVC Compounding since past 30 yrs. He started his career as Marketing executive at PCR, Mumbai and hence has been involved in the World of Plastics ever since.

He is a well travelled person internationally and is an active member of various associations and educational institutes in the field of Plastics.

He is the Chairman of Indian Institute of Plastics, Ahmedabad Chapter and the Vice President of GSPMA (Gujarat State Plastic Manufacturers Association). Mr. Kanunga is the Marketing Chairman for the Plexpo India consecutively since past 6 yrs. He has served as the National Committee Chairman for Western Zone at the Plastindia.

Apart from these, he is a Member of Board of Studies at the Nirma University. He is on the Anchor Committee for CIPET and also has been a past committee member at Ahmedabad Management Association, AMA.


Mr. Bejon Misra - Founder Director - Partnership for Safe Medicines (PSM) INDIA Initiative, New Delhi

Born in Jamshedpur, India in 1951 and acquired degree from Senior Cambridge Board and subsequently Degree in Business Management with Marketing as major from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in 1971. Awarded "Distinguished Alumni Award" in 2012 by BHU. The World No-Tobacco Day 2013 Award Winner from the South- East Asia Region of WHO. Recognized by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Regional Office Lucknow as a Rural Innovator on improving access to safe drinking water. “BHAMASHAH AWARD” for service to the consumers by the Confederation of All India Traders.

40+ years of professional career starting as a Marketing Executive with TATA Steel in the year 1971 and subsequently moved on to became an entrepreneur.

30+ years as an International Expert on Consumer Protection Policies as the founder of the Consumer Guidance Society of Jamshedpur in 1983. At present Managing Director, New Era Patient Friendly Hospital Private Ltd., Founder of Consumer Online Foundation, Healthy You Foundation, Chairman, Cell for Consumer Education & Advocacy (CCEA).

15+ years as an International Expert on User (Consumer) Focus for developing Strategies and Capacity Building Programs in developing countries on Quality Management Systems for Public and Private Enterprises. Have been engaged as a short term consultant with UNDP, UNICEF, UNCTAD, WHO, World Bank, GIZ, British Council, DFID, GAIN & EPOS. Travelled abroad extensively in more than 30 countries to study issues concerning consumer empowerment. Member of several Indian and Consumers International delegations and missions. Attended several Intergovernmental Negotiations within the UN Bodies and invited as a Faculty and Speaker at several International and National events by Governments and industry associations.

Member of the First constituted Central Consumer Protection Council (CCPC) and Bihar State Consumer Protection Council in 1987, under the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act 1986. Founder Signatory and Governing Council Member of the Consumer Coordination Council (CCC) in 1993, the National Coalition of more than 70 leading Consumer Organisation of India. Elected as the Chairman of CCC from 2003-05. As the Chairman, signed an MOU with the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India to start the Consumer Online Resource & Empowerment Centre (CORE) and facilitated the launch of the JAGO GRAHAK JAGO Campaign.

Former Founding Member of the Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Member of the Consumer Complaints Council (CCC) of the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) and served as a member on several working groups and Committees on Government Policies like the Mashelkar Committee for Review of Drugs Regulatory System and Tandon Committee on the Scientific and Technological Measures to Counter Spurious and Sub-standard Drugs and Diagnostic Centres. Published several research papers on consumer behaviour and perspectives on complaint handling mechanisms, accessibility, affordability and quality of service related issues for the World Bank, World Health Organisation (WHO) and National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) Government of India and International NGOs.
