Ajay Luthra has the Doctorate Degree in Synthesis and
Characterization of synthetic enzymes. He joined
Oxford University as Senior Research Fellow working on
implantable glucose sensors. He later joined Professor
Dennis Chapman’s group at the Royal Free Hospital and
became a consultant to Biocompatibles Inc. His first
job was as Head of Chemistry with Biomedical Sensors,
developing implantable sensors. In 1991, he progressed
to start BioInteractions where he developed
biocompatible biomaterials and he is co-inventor of 6
patents, which have been filed worldwide. These
patents have yielded 7 products for BioInteractions,
which have been licensed to Medtronic, Covidien, B
Braun and Others. He is the Chairman of Royal Society
Biomaterials Chemistry Division and Fellow of the
Royal Society of Chemistry.

T S Kumaravel

Kumaravel is the Founding Chairman of GLR Laboratories
Pvt Ltd. Dr. Kumaravel is American Board certified and
UK/Eurotox Registered Toxicologist with more than 20
years experience in industry as well as in academia.
He is a leading expert in Biological Safety
Assessments, Biocompatibility studies and developing
strategies for testing medical devices. Dr. Kumaravel
obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery
from Stanley Medical College, Doctoral degree in
Pharmacology/Toxicology from University of Madras and
finally obtained PhD in Genetic Toxicology/Cancer
Genetics from MGR Medical University, Chennai. He then
carried out toxicology research at Hiroshima
University, Japan; National Institutes of
Health, USA and Princess Margaret Hospital, Canada.
Subsequently, he has worked with world leading
contract research companies such as Covance
Laboratories and Huntingdon Life Sciences, where he
worked with various international medical devices
clients. He has extensive experience in
Biocompatibility studies, advising clients on their
requirements to comply with national and international
guidelines. Additionally, he has experience of
managing regulatory submissions for FDA and EU. He has
authored several confidential reports, 40
peer-reviewed publications and has 50+ conference
papers to his name.

Ganesh Sabat

other medical devices manufacturing industry, high
volume injection moulding & assembly production,
packaging & EO Gas sterilization. He has good
knowledge of various certifications like ISO
9001:2008, ISO 13485:2003, WHO-PQS Prequalification &
CE Mark. He is very dynamic and capable to lead &
manage a SBU of medical device production facility
handling P & L responsibility, vendor development,
product development along with engineering management
of production equipments and utility equipments which
include clean room & HVAC systems.
