INNOVATION & DEVELOPMENT IN MEDICAL PLASTICS/ DEVICES & PHARMA PACKING

are in wide use for medical devices namely, membranes, balloons, catheters, housings, blood bags, heart valves, stopcocks, tissue staples, drug-delivery devices, both temporary to permanent implants such as in Infusion, Transfusion, Cardiac, Neurology, Orthopaedic, Dentistry, etc.in surgical procedures.

PEBA (New generation polymer)

PEBA polymer is characterized by several outstanding properties, such as high impact, dimensional stability, good sliding properties, high abrasion & chemical resistance. The PEBA grades represent a range of flexible & varying hardness levels for processing via extrusion and injection moulding.

Application of Polyether Block Amide:

• Angioplasty balloon catheters,
• Very thin walled epidural catheters,
• Flexible dentures,
• Monitoring and imaging devices and durable housing parts.

COC (New generation polymer)

COC (Cyclic Olefin Co-polymer) medical polymer developed specifically for application in diagnostics has excellent light transmission in the near UV region as well as high transparency in the visible region, greater shatter resistance than glass, superior barrier to moisture, excellent resistance to aqueous & polar organic media.

Application of COC

• Pre-filled syringes,
• Vials, Drug bottles (COVID- 19),
• Drug delivery devices, Micro plates, Microfluidic devices,
• Cuvettes, Bio-chips, PCR, point-of-care settings test devices,
• Films, Pharmaceutical packing, etc.

Co-polyester Tritan (New generation polymer)

Tritan co-polyester material is excellent in appearance and clarity & has many outstanding features that include heat, humidity, hydrolytic stability, chemical and lipid resistance, blood resistance, durability & stability in most potent oncology aggressive solvents, disinfectants, etc.

Application of co-polyester

• Blood contact and dialysis
• Blood tubes
• Fluid administration
• Medical equipment
• Medical lab ware

PEEK (biomaterial) MEDICAL GRADE POLYMERS

PEEK is a high-performance engineering plastic with outstanding resistance to harsh chemicals. Has bone-like mechanical properties, excellent X-ray transparency, easier to process than metal, supports cobalt, chrome plating, is light weight, possesses low thermal conductivity (useful in patients with less sensitivity to temperature change).

PEEK is used for

• Orthopedic & Spinal implants.
• Cervical vertebrae, Maxillofacial surgical implants.
• Medical device applications (Tubing Connectors).

Plastic is the most widely used material for manufacturing in the world. Because of this fact, the related state of the art technology for handling plastics is available that support performance of specialized & unique tasks for, Producing variously designed medical device components with high level of precision, accuracy and quality.
